Allo-HLA cross-reactivity by viral-specific memory T cells. Viral-specific memory T cells target virus-infected autologous cells presenting viral peptides in a self-HLA restricted fashion. The same viral-specific TCR may cross-react against an allogeneic HLA molecule presenting a self-peptide. CTL cytotoxic T lymphocyte. (Figure reproduced with permission from D’Orsogna et al. 2010)
