Autoactivation of FXII in neat-buffer solution by sepharose-based ion-exchange resin particles listed in Table 1. Ion-exchange resins are more efficient activators than clean glass. CM and DEAE appear to be inefficient activators because FXIIa binds to the surface and is not detected by the FXIIa assay (see Fig. 4). Dashed lines through the data are guides to the eye.
