Arteri- and nairovirus DUBs inhibit the ubiquitination of RIG-I upon overexpression. (A and B) The effect of overexpression of the arteri- and nairovirus DUBs on RIG-I ubiquitination was assessed by cotransfecting HEK293T cells with a combination of plasmids encoding GST–RIG-I_(2CARD), myc-ubiquitin, GFP, and the indicated viral proteins. Following lysis at 16 h p.t., a GST pulldown experiment was performed and ubiquitination of RIG-I was subsequently analyzed by means of SDS-PAGE and Western blot analysis, using the indicated antibodies.
