Effect of different Best1 antagonists on tonic currents in presence of TTX in rat slices. NPPB significantly increased the tonic current amplitude by 387.1 ± 180.6% (A2), but had no effect on the tonic current noise [101.7 ± 52.02%; (A3); n = 5]. DIDS had no effect on the tonic current amplitude [3.79 ± 23.31%; (B2); n = 5] or noise [15.02 ± 7.89%; (B3)]. NFA had no effect on the tonic current amplitude [−37.27 ± 36.87%; (C2); n = 24], but significantly decreased the tonic current noise by −18.34 ± 8.08% (C3). *P < 0.05, paired t-test.
