The replicative senescence induced by etoposide exposure was attenuated by transfection with the GLO1-overexpressing vector. BrdU uptake of RPTECs at early passage with or without etoposide exposure and at late passage without etoposide exposure was measured. BrdU uptake was significantly decreased by the addition of etoposide or at late passage, whereas the introduction of GLO1 ameliorated this decrease significantly. The level after transfection with empty vector without etoposide exposure was set as 1. *P < 0.01; **P < 0.05.
