In the imagery condition the tone pattern had to be continued in the imagination. The last tone in both conditions could either be the correct continuation of the melody at that time point, with a probability of 50% (standard, depicted by the black dot) or one of the other tones of the tone pattern, with a probability of 25%, respectively (deviants as depicted by the grey dots).
