3α,5α-THP levels are greater among proestrous rats in serum, midbrain, hippocampus, diencephalon, and cortex than diestrous rats irrespective of mating condition (top). 3α,5α-THP levels are enhanced in all brain regions examined among proestrous rats that engage in paced mating irrespective of exposure to exploratory (open field and elevated plus maze) or social (partner preference and social interaction) tasks compared to non-mated proestrous rats (middle). Among all tasks, only paced mating enhances 3α,5α-THP levels of proestrous rats compared to non-mated proestrous rats.
