Effect of CAE, BKC, and SDS on the cell viability. Confluent monolayers of Vero cells were incubated in 0.85% sodium chloride solution (pH 5.5) containing 20 mM MES and varying concentrations of each compound at room temperature for 15 min. The treated cells were trypsinized to obtain a single cell suspension and the amounts of the live and dead cells in each culture were determined by a dye exclusion test with trypan blue.
