Table 5.

Best fit models for coalescent analysis of Ifremeria nautilei populations among Manus, North Fiji, and Lau Basin.

Population 1 Population 2 θ 1 θ 2 θ a m1 m2 τ /τ μ 1 *404 τ/μ 2*404
Manus North Fiji 59.3 23.3 0.1 0.0 0.0 2.09 103,000 345,700
Manus Lau 66.0 12.6 0.4 0.0 0.0 1.55 79,900 256,400
Lau North Fiji 66.9 66.9 6.7 6.2 27.2 0.25 12,400 41,400

θ1 = effective size of population 2, θ2 = effective size of population 2, θa = effective size of ancestral population, m1 = migration into population 1 from population 2, m2 = migration in to population 2 from population 1, τ = splitting time between populations. Splitting time is calibrated against two mutations rates: μ1 = 5 × 10-8 [21], μ2 = 1.5 × 10-8 [76] adjusted for the number of base pairs in the sequence. Posterior probability densities are provided in Additional File 2, Figure S1.
