It may be noted that class uncertainty is maximum around the threshold selected under minimum error criterion. Image points with intensity values of either $t_1$ or $t_2$ are classified as object points. However, the class uncertainty associated with points having intensity $t_1$ is significantly higher than that for points with intensity $t_2$.
