Dr. Suhas S. Godhi (41 years), Professor and Head, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, ITS–Center for Dental Studies and Research, Ghaziabad passed away in a tragic accident in Delhi on the 25th November 2011.
Dr. Godhi was born on 8th of April 1970 in Dharwad District. He was the son of late Shri Sanjeev Sangamesh Godhi and late Shrimathi Prabhavati Godhi. After graduating in Dentistry in 1992, he completed his postgraduation in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from KLE Dental College Belgaum in 1996. Dr. Godhi has worked in KLE Dental College, Belgaum, SDM Dental College Dharwad, and PMNM Dental College, Bagalkot in Karnataka before moving to ITS Dental College, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
Dr. Suhas Godhi was a popular teacher and an accomplished Surgeon respected by his students and peers alike. He was an active member of the Association of Maxillofacial surgeons of India. As an academician, Dr. Godhi took a keen interest in publications and has around 20 publications in national and international journals. He was a regular reviewer of the Journal of Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery, International Journal of Oral Surgery, Oral medicine and Oral Pathology, Indian journal of Dentistry, Journal of Oral health and community Dentistry. He was appointed as post graduate and undergraduate examiner to various universities in South as well as North India.
Dr. Godhi is survived by Dr. Brinda S. Godhi and their two children Pooja and Jeevana. He will be remembered as an excellent surgeon, sound academician, popular teacher, good husband and a doting father to his two little children.
Dr. Suhas Godhi will be missed by all of us. May his soul rest in peace.
