Serial sections were stained with trichrome, SMA, and GFP. The trichrome staining shows the collagen in green and the general architecture of the tissue. The SMA staining shows the myofibroblasts or smooth muscle cells that associate with the blood vessel and the GFP staining is the implanted ECs.
