A, C, E, and G, rats were treated with 7-NI, AMT, SNP, or MK801 to observe their effects on the JNK downstream mitochondrial signaling pathway proteins and on the apoptotic response induced by transient brain ischemia followed by 6 h of reperfusion in the hippocampal CA1. Protein samples were separately examined by immunoblotting (IB) with anti-p-Bcl-2, anti-Bcl-2, anti-Cyt c, anti-COX IV, anti-caspase-3, and anti-actin antibodies.
