Addition of the C terminus of FMNL3 enhances filament severing. A–E, 2 μm polymerized actin was incubated with buffer (A) or 400 nm of FFC-WT (B), FF-WT (C), or FF-WT and 400 nm Cterm-WT in trans (D) for 2 min, then stabilized with 10 μm rhodamine-phalloidin and immediately diluted 100-fold with fluorescence buffer. After dilution, samples were adsorbed to poly-l-lysine-coated glass coverslips and viewed by fluorescence microscopy. Scale bar = 5 μm.
