Although the epithelium is relatively dark compared to the bright stroma, the thickness is very regular with uniform crypt structures. (b) Single crypt opening, slightly slit-like but with abundant goblet structures (dark “dots” within the epithelial cells). (c) Capillary vasculature typically seen very early in the injection. The vessels are small (<10 mm) in diameter and form a regular capillary network.
