When grown in RnP defined medium, G27 ΔguaA, ΔguaB, and ΔguaC mutants were capable of growth only in the presence of specific purine bases or nucleosides. OD₆₀₀ values for 24-h growth assays of H. pylori strain G27 (A) and its ΔguaB (B), ΔguaB rdxA::guaB (C), ΔguaA (D), ΔguaC (E), and ΔguaC rdxA::guaC (F) purine nucleotide biosynthesis mutants in defined RnP medium containing only single purine bases or nucleoside sources.
