Gal3p binds to a different surface of Gal80p than the surface for the Gal4p TAD interaction. Gal80p from the Gal80p–Gal4p–AD–NAD complex was superimposed on Gal80p in the Gal80p–Gal3p–ATP–galactose complex, placing Gal4p–AD (shown in cyan) and NAD(H) (shown in stick representation) on the complex reported here.
