(A) Cell walls collected from KN99 were subjected to various treatments (400 µg [dry weight] equivalents per sample) as described in Materials and Methods; two samples were boiled twice in SDS–β-ME (solubilized proteins from these extractions were loaded in lanes 3 and 4), followed by either HF-pyridine extraction (lane 1) or β-1,3-glucanase digestion (lane 2).
