Abolishment of the hemagglutination activity of Suberitine by retinal. Constant concentrations of Suberitine (3 µg/mL, equal to 0.4 µM of the purified peptide) were incubated with 0.3 to 3 µM of retinal and then added to the hemolytic test system. For the evaluation of the hemagglutination activity an assay system was used, allowing a percental assessment of the degree of hemolysis, as described under “Materials and Methods”.
