CD29-induced signal transduction requires NOX2-derived ROS. α-CD29 administration (10 µg/mL, 15 min) induced phosphorylation of ERK1/2 (p44/42), Akt and GSK-3β in wild-type (wt) NMVM (AF). α-CD29-induced phosphorylation was absent in NOX2 knock-out (NOX2k.o.) cardiomyocytes (AC); and partially diminished in p47phox loss of function (p47LOF) NMVM (DF).
