Average time to completion of an epoch (24 movements) drops faster for the LMS group (triangles) than the control group (squares). This trend, in combination with endpoint error reduction in Fig. 4, further supports the notion that the LMS machine learning algorithm facilitates subjects’ rapid learning of the system but does not improve performance after significant amounts training.
