Table 2. Sequences of the WX(F/W)(S/T)-like sequence in GCKIII and GCKVI subgroups in H. sapiens and mouse.

The WX(F/W)(S/T)-like sequence corresponds to site D in STRADα [4]. In Xenopus laevis MST3 (GenBank® acession number NP_001085728), the sequence is W323NFTRR328, and in Danio rerio MST3 (GenBank® acession number NP_998642), it is W315IFTIR320. It is also conserved in MST3 of many other vertebrates. For the GCKVI subgroup, the STRADα site D-like ‘WEW’ sequence has been extended on either side to show the acidic nature of the region.
