Proliferation inhibition was measured for KB cells over a range of concentrations of compounds 7 and 8, as shown, in complete folate-free RPMI1640 with 2 nM LCV in the absence of other additions (labeled “No additions”), or in the presence of 200 nM folic acid (labeled “Folate-added”), adenosine (60 μM), thymidine (10 μM), or AICA (320 μM). Cell densities were measured as in the experimental with a fluorescence dye and a fluorescence plate reader. Results were normalized to cell densities in the absence of drug. Results shown are representative data of experiments performed in triplicate. Analogous results were obtained with IGROV1 cells (not shown).
