Figure 1

Structural and fluorescent properties of IR-813 encapsulated in coumarin-eNP: (a) An emulsion of an acrylate monomer possessing a 2,4,6-trimethoxybenzaldehyde protecting group (1) and a coumarin-6 co-monomer (2) was used to synthesize Coumarin labeled pH-responsive 50 and 100 nm nanoparticles (3). IR-813 (b) was encapsulated with or without Oregon Green paclitaxel (c) into unlabeled and coumarin-labeled eNP (NIR-OGpax-eNP and NIR-C-eNP, respectively) to create the two types of dual-labeled particles for subsequent trafficking studies. (d) Fluorescence spectrum of NIR-C-eNP (λexc = 375 ± 10 nm and 770 ± 2 nm). (e) Fluorescence spectrum of NIR-OGpax-eNP (λexc = 375 ± 10 nm and 770 ± 2 nm).
