Mice were vaccinated with K^d/LLO_91–99 SCTs or control K^d SCTs as described above and infected with 5 × 10⁴ L. monocytogenes at 5 months post-immunization. 3 days later spleens (left) and livers (right) were harvested and bacteria growth was determined by colony count.
