NRK cells were incubated at either of the 2 pHs for 24 h. A: effect of media pH on mRNA abundance was assessed using real-time PCR. B: we show that pH did not affect the total cellular NHE8 expression. C and D: cells were incubated at either pH 6.6 or 7.4 in the presence of 5 × 10−6 M actinomycin D or 10 μg/ml cycloheximide.
