B, C) Collagen deposition (B) and myofibroblasts (C) in distal air-spaces were assessed with Masson's trichrome and α SMA immunohistochemistry. D, E) Fibrosis was quantified by determination of collagen present in BAL fluid (D) and Ashcroft scores (E) on H&E-stained lung sections.
