We show the results of simulations with homeostatic scaling, multiplicative plasticity, or concurrent bottom-up and top-down plasticity ( Methods , Table 1 ). The format is the same as in Figure 5 . The only convergent simulations were seen for depression-biased rSTDP, in the homeostatic scaling and concurrent plasticity cases. For all other learning conditions, homeostatic scaling simulations and concurrent plasticity reached extreme weights. Multiplicative plasticity always led to a lack of diversity.
