Components of a cardiac optical mapping set up. LED illumination is emerging as a leading technology for optical imaging applications. A high-speed microcontroller interface between LED excitation and camera acquisition allows precise timing for multi-parameter optical mapping. The microcontroller also enables precise timing of external electrical and mechanical stimulators relative to the ECG. Multi-band optical filter technology enables the use of a single camera.
