Fluorescence of P. syringae PG4180 (pHW01) after a temperature downshift in planta and in vitro imaged by confocal laser scanning microscopy. (A) Fluorescence of P. syringae PG4180 (pHW01) after a temperature downshift in planta. Plants were inoculated with bacteria grown at 28°C and subsequently kept in growth chambers at 18 °C. (B) Fluorescence of P. syringae PG4180 (pHW01) after a temperature downshift in vitro. Bacteria were grown in HSC medium at 28 °C to an OD600 of 0·5 and subsequently shifted to 18 °C. Cells were harvested at the indicated time points.
