Thermodynamic cycles for tri-tert-butylphenol in (A) ethanol/water and (B) acetonitrile. The constant CG for (A) is as described in Figure 1. In MeCN (B), the constant CG relates CH3CNH+ + Cp2Fe0 to 1/2H2 and then to H(solv) so that the BDFE corresponds to the chemical reaction XH → X + H.
