MMP-13 primary HTS campaign scattergram. Graphed are the percent inhibition values for every well tested in the primary HTS campaign. Definitions of the controls are given in detail in the text. Note the large amount of “negative inhibitors” in the bottom part of the plot. The negative inhibition scatter is attributed to the substrate fluorophore (7-methoxycoumarin) excitation wavelength, making the primary HTS campaign assay prone to the interference from fluorescent compounds contained in the screening file.
