All of these correlations were very significant (R² and P values for regressions are shown). The correlations were stronger in subendocardium than subepicardium. In contrast, there was no significant relationship between the amount of apoptosis and LV EF (%) (D), i.e., LV EF (%) did not decline with increasing amounts of nonmyocyte apoptosis in subendocardium with chronic severe LVH.
