HPV49 E6 and E7 efficiently immortalize primary HFK. (A) Total RNA was extracted from HFK transduced with the indicated recombinant retroviruses and subjected to reverse transcription. PCR was performed using the different cDNAs as templates with HPV type-specific primers. (B) Morphology of primary HFK transduced with the indicated recombinant retroviruses 20 days postransduction. The same magnification was used (×10) for all photomicrographs. (C) Total RNA was extracted from the indicated cells and subjected to reverse transcription.
