Table 1.
Effect of cathepsin inhibitors on production of infectious NiVa
Inhibitor | Virus titer (TCID50/ml) |
|
---|---|---|
Vero cells | MDCK cells | |
Control | 4 × 105 | 1.2 × 104 |
CatLIII (20 μM) | 2.5 × 102 | 1.5 × 104 |
NS134P (10 μM) | 4.5 × 105 | 7 × 102 |
CatLIII + NS134P | <2 × 102 | <2 × 102 |
Vero and MDCK cells were infected with NiV at MOIs of 0.2 and 0.5, respectively. After 1 h virus adsorption at 37°C, cells were washed to remove input virus and then further incubated with the indicated inhibitors. At 24 h p.i., virus titers in the supernatant were determined by the TCID50 method.
