Following the number of water molecules that permeate the membrane in the presence of each of the two permeants, NATA and the side chain of tryptophan. The permeants are fixed at two locations z=−4 Å and z=4 Å to check statistical convergence. The number of water molecules fluctuates significantly, however, the fluctuations are similar after about 10 nanoseconds. Note that the water permeation is smaller for the side chain.
