HCT-8 coverslips were infected and stained with pan-specific antibody to quantify C. parvum infection. >300 parasites were counted on 15–30 frames for each of four replicates for each time point. The average for each of the 3 stages of parasite determined was converted into a percentage of the total parasite detected per time point. zoite  =  sporozoite/merozoite, trophozoite  =  all trophozoites (size of stained parasite was > zoite but <merozoite), meront  =  all parasites staining > trophozoite.
