Left panel: oxytocin induced stronger functional connectivity between the right amygdala and the hippocampus (HIP), precuneus (PCC), OFC, and middle temporal gyrus (MTG) during the perception of infant laughter compared with control sound. Right panel: oxytocin also enhanced functional connectivity between the left amygdala and the ACC during the perception of infant laughter compared with control sound. Statistical images were thresholded with clusters determined by Z>2.3 and a cluster-corrected significance threshold of p<0.05.
