Optical mapping experimental set-up. A 3-CCD camera optical mapping set-up was implemented to acquire high-resolution movies of the atrial endocardium and epicardium. One of the CCD cameras was connected to an endoscope which tip could be directed towards the PLA or the LAA. Additionally, background pictures of the endocardial (right panels) or epicardial (not shown) anatomy could be obtained with a corresponding camera field-of-view.
