Transgenic mice are susceptible to pentylenetetrazol (PTZ)-induced seizures.

PTZ was given at escalating doses from 2.5mg/kg to 80mg/kg via intraperitoneal injection. Mice were observed for 30 minutes after each dose and scored for the presence and type of seizure. The seizure score was averaged in 3 mice. Transgenic mice developed seizures at a low dose of PTZ while there is no seizure in wild-type mice at the same dose.
