The vicinity of the cleavage site of the heterotrimer is thermally unfolded while the homotrimer behaves stable triple helical structure, indicating it is thermally stable. The applying force stabilizes the cleavage site of the heterotrimer but does not affect the triple helical structure of the homotrimer.
