FIGURE 6

The proximal AP-1 motif has a higher binding affinity to c-Jun/DNA binding than the distal one in vitro. A, Sequence alignment analysis showing a difference between the distal and proximal AP-1 motifs. B, ALEX fluorescence spectroscopy shows that the proximal AP-1 motif has a higher binding affinity to NTHi-activated c-Jun than the distal one in vitro. Results were expressed as fold-induction, taking the value of the non-treated group as 1. The experiments were performed in triplicate and repeated twice. Values are given as the mean ± standard deviation (n = 3). *: p < 0.05.
