A schematic diagram for the experimental apparatus. The molecular beam
machine consists of two vacuum chambers and a photoionization TOF MS,
which are pumped by a 10-, 6-, and 2-inch (1 in = 2.54 cm)
diffusion pump, respectively. The source chamber contains a
high-temperature pulsed nozzle (A), and the
photoionization TOF MS consists of an ion optics assembly
(B), a set of microchannel plate detectors
(C) for both linear and reflectron mode detection, and a
deflector (D).
