Effect of pyridoxine on ox-LDL-induced O2•− and NO production. (A) Pyridoxine inhibited ox-LDL-induced O2•− generation. Cells were pretreated for 15 min with pyridoxine (10−7 mol·L−1), followed by incubation with 20 mg·L−1 ox-LDL for another 24 h. Data are presented as changes relative to control (n = 6 *P < 0.05 vs. control, ##P < 0.01, ###P < 0.001 vs. ox-LDL). (B) Pyridoxine increased NO level in ox-LDL-treated HUVECs. Pretreatment with pyridoxine significantly prevented the decrease of NO induced by ox-LDL. Data are expressed relative to control (n = 3 *P < 0.05 vs. control, #P < 0.05, ##P < 0.01 vs. ox-LDL).
