(Left) The amino acid sequence of the C5 domain was subjected to a homology search by using the BLAST program, and the Ser-349/Tyr-365 region is shown. The number in parenthesis indicates amino acid residue number of the residue that is equivalent to E. coli Ser-349 in each organism. Residues identical with those of E. coli SecY are shown in reverse font. (Right) Saccharomyces cerevisiae Sec61p sequence was aligned with E. coli SecY by using the CLUSTALW program. The region that corresponds to C5 of E. coli SecY was subjected to BLAST homology searches, and the Ser-349/Tyr-365 equivalent regions are shown.
