Treatment of MK8745 induces differential effect based on the p53 status. HCT116 and HCT 116 (p53^−/−) cells transfected with GFP-histone 2B (A and B) for 24 h were treated with 1 µM MK8745 and live cell imaging was done in parental cells after 4 h and in p53^−/− cells 18 h of exposure to MK8745 as described in Materials and Methods. Shown are selected still images from time-lapse movies; the fate of individual cells was tracked over time (in circles).
