Ergosterol levels of deletion mutants that exhibit altered sensitivity to antifungal drugs. The cells indicated were grown to saturation in YES at 27°C, and ergosterol from the strains was extracted and levels of ergosterol were determined as described in Materials and Methods. The ergosterol content of wild-type cells was taken as 100%, and the ergosterol contents of the other deletion mutants were calculated as a percentage of that of the wild-type cells. Each value represents the average from at least three independent experiments.
