Table 3.

Participation in any physical activity stratified by whether women remained active, became active, or became inactive at 17–22 and 27–30 weeks’ gestation. The reported values are medians with interquartile ranges (IQR) in hours per week (h/wk) and MET hours per week (MET h/wk).

Percent of women who were physically active at 17–22 and 27–30 weeks’ gestation (active), became physically active at 27–30 weeks’ gestation (became active), and became physically inactive at 27–30 weeks’ gestation (became inactive). The percent was calculated separately for each mode of activity. Those women who reported no physical activity at both time points are not included in the table.

The difference between 17–22 and 27–30 weeks’ gestation was statistically significant at alpha level p<0.05 (the signed rank test).

The difference between ‘active’ versus ‘became active’ and ‘active’ versus ‘became inactive’ was statistically significant at alpha level p<0.05 (the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test).

§

Those women who reported to be working in either of the trimesters (n=1206).
