Common prediction model for TG and FFAs during lipid infusion. (A) Plots of directly measured vs predicted plasma TG and FFA concentrations in 15 healthy young adults. A total of 12 breath and room air samples were taken for each subject during a 4 h lipid infusion study, which resulted in a ∼2.5-fold increase of plasma lipids above basal levels. Common prediction models for TG and FFA were derived from the multilinear regression analyses of 10-VOC clusters. The models that demonstrated the highest correlation with directly measured lipid concentrations are shown (TG, left; FFA, right).
