Relative expression of AQP4. A, astrocytoma cells were transfected with anti- or pre-miR-130a or corresponding anti- or pre-miRNA negative controls. Total RNA was extracted, and the miR-130a levels were determined using stem-loop PCR (see inset). The relative expression levels of miR-130a were expressed with respect to the appropriate scrambled negative controls. The corresponding AQP4 mRNA levels were also determined.
